“In their first year, they moved in together, began finishing up their schooling, and created amazing memories together. I love building these relationships with the clients that I’m lucky enough to work with. I still pinch myself wondering why they chose ME of the 3 billion photogs out there. But I don’t question how grateful I am for meeting them, capturing their favorite day, and now documenting the new milestones, like celebrating one year together as husband and wife.”
“…Seriously the cutest little boho dress that wasn’t overly fancy but also wasn’t super casual. It was the perfect mix and flowed so beautifully in the 100mph winds….no seriously the winds were CRAZYYYY this day!!!! Mikayla joked that she wasn’t even sure why she got her hair done!!! hahahah, buuuuut – everything turned out amazing and I am so obsessed with this collection of images!!! Now only if their wedding could be like…tomorrow!!! HAHAHA…”
…I love these two SO much and I was beyond thrilled to see them getting engaged this summer. Though it was a secret dream of mine to be their wedding photographer, I knew Kylie had been planning her wedding day since she was a little girl, and I could only imagine how many photographers she dreamt of working with. That was until one day, she texted me and said “Kyle and I neeeeeed you to be available for our wedding day, cause we want to hire YOU”. ..
…Derek admitted to sometimes not even feeling like drinking coffee, but still going in to the store to buy a cup so he could talk to Kaia. Both being super shy about the other person, their love finally blossomed one day, when Derek asked Kaia on a date. Of course she couldn’t resit, and here they are today.
…I stayed the night at Dean and Sierra’s the day before they’re shoot, and we sat around their fire, outside their brand new house, eating smores and reflecting on all the time they had spent together as a couple. The next day we ventured up to Mt Rainier (one of their fav spots) and captured their time as fiancés.
…Now it was Betsy’s turn, even though Shawna had no idea it was coming, nor did she think Betsy would end up getting her a diamond ring. But she did. Not only that, the ring was her grandpas wedding ring melted down, who is no longer here with us. The day was amazing with these two that ended by the fire, where we ate like 50 smores, and it was the best thing everrrrr.
…And when I finally met up with them in Big Sur to capture their engagement session, it felt as though I had been catching up with long lost friends. I’m not kiddinggggg hahah we all got along SO well together. I was so excited running all over these beautiful green and yellow hill sides once we just pulled over on some random road.
…Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE SIMPLE PROPOSALS. But before I stuck my head full of ideas into places it shouldn’t be, I asked him if he would like any wine, or a blanket laid out for the two of them to celebrate afterwards. We talked a little bit more, and then a little more, and then a little more, before I heard the magic words from this groom to be: “Kayla, I trust whatever you think will look great, I know it will!”.
…And when I finally got there, it was way better than I imagined. Not because of the late nights, the views, the historical monuments or even because of the street pizza and pretzels. Nope, NYC was amazing because of these two sweet souls. Jillian and I instantly clicked.
…it was at least $1000 worth of items were stolen, including their bikes and Austin’s one year present for Andrea. Most girls would have flipped, but I remember Andrea saying she was just so happy that they were both safe, and that she didn’t need anything from Austin to know that he loved her SO MUCH.
