We all love a resort destination wedding in Mexico…but what about taking your closest friends and family to the sickest airbnb, and a wedding venue tucked away in the Jungle of Tulum, Mexico. Matt and Maddie opted to leave the snow behind in Minnesota and fly south for the winter for their romantic boho wedding in Tulum!!! It’s always been a dream to not just travel to Tulum, but to photograph one of my couples there!!! AND MAN, I KNOW WHY IT WAS ON MY BUCKET LIST FOR SO LONG. From amazing food, to super cool beaches, Tulum has so much to offer not just the everyday tourist, but any couple who wants to create a destination wedding weekend their friends and family will remember FOREVER.
We flew into Tulum a few days before Matt and Maddie’s big day so we could scope the area, settle in, enjoy the pool + walk through the amazing and beautiful town La Veleta, Tulum, Mexico!!! We were able to give Matt and Maddie an epic day before session in the HUGE airbnb they rented for the weekend, where they and 15 of their closest friends were able to sleep! We started under the warm sun of Mexico, and then (of course) had a couple of tequila shots on and off camera 😉
When it came to the day of the wedding, we had the most amazing weather!! Definitely not snowy like it was back home for these two!!! We truly soaked up every moment from the getting ready time at the airbnb all the way until we were dancing under the stars at their venue, Chechen Tulum! This venue was absolutely to DIE FOR. From all the different areas for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing, to the staff, and to the amazing decor this vendor team put together. A DREAM DAY, and I’m SOOO happy to be sharing it with you here :)))
